The winemaking group Félix Solís Avantis is committed to the international market. With exports accounting for 65% of its turnover, it is in the process of completing its new winery in Chile, the first outside Spain. The company plans to invest 45 million euros in the new winery, which will begin operations in the 2024 harvest.
This ambitious project will see the construction of a winery equipped with state-of-the-art technology, from the reception of the grapes to bottling. The total surface area of the project is 136,000 m2. Given its location, the Félix Solís Avantis team has conducted a thorough study of the regions that comprise Chile’s wine map over the years.
The winery will be located in the Cachapoal Valley, in the Central Zone, 100 kilometres south of Santiago de Chile. The region has a great variety of soils, where the white varieties chardonnay and sauvignon blanc, and the red varieties merlot, cabernet sauvignon and carmenere, abound. The production capacity is scheduled to be 30 million litres, with the first harvest due to commence in 2024.
For Félix Solís Avantis, the investment in Chile “represents an important boost in its international expansion, as it is a country with a great wine tradition, which offers high quality products and enjoys a good position in all international markets. The establishment of the winery in Chile will therefore strengthen the product portfolio for our international distribution,” says Mr. Félix Solís Yáñez, president and CEO of the company.
